Total Time:25 minutes
Yield:4 servings 1x
Ingredients
Scale
4 Tilapia Fillets (about 4–6 ounces each), thawed if frozen
1 cup Breadcrumbs, plain or Italian seasoned
2 large Eggs, beaten
1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/4 teaspoon Paprika (optional, for color and flavor)
Olive Oil or Cooking Spray, for coating the air fryer basket
Instructions
Prepare the Breading Station: Set up three shallow dishes. In the first dish, place the flour. In the second, add the beaten eggs. In the third, combine the breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika (if using). Mix well.
Coat the Tilapia: Dredge each tilapia fillet in the flour, shaking off any excess. Then, dip it into the beaten eggs, ensuring it’s fully coated. Finally, press the fillet into the breadcrumb mixture, making sure it’s evenly coated on both sides.
Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes. This helps ensure even cooking and a crispy exterior.
Prepare the Air Fryer Basket: Lightly coat the air fryer basket with olive oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
Arrange the Tilapia: Place the breaded tilapia fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding the basket, as this can prevent the tilapia from getting crispy. If necessary, cook in batches.
Air Fry the Tilapia: Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping the fillets halfway through, or until the tilapia is cooked through and the breading is golden brown and crispy. The internal temperature of the tilapia should reach 145°F (63°C).
Serve and Enjoy: Carefully remove the cooked tilapia from the air fryer and serve immediately.
