  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large sweet potatoes
  • 12 tablespoons olive oil (or avocado oil or coconut oil)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Optional: Paprika, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, rosemary, thyme, oregano
  • Dipping sauce of your choice (ketchup, spicy mayo, garlic aioli, honey mustard, avocado ranch)
  • Instructions

  • Wash and peel the sweet potatoes.
  • Cut the sweet potatoes into even-sized fries, about ¼ to ½ inch thick.
  • Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes (or up to a few hours) to remove excess starch. Drain well and pat completely dry with paper towels.
  • In a bowl, toss the fries with oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and any other desired spices.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  • Arrange the fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving some space between each one. Cook in batches if necessary.
  • Air fry for 15-20 minutes, flipping them halfway through to ensure even cooking. They’re done when they’re golden brown and crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.
