Air Fryer Tuna Steaks A quick easy recipe for perfectly cooked flavorful tuna Enjoy a healthy delicious meal in minutes
Total Time:12 minutes
Yield:21x
Ingredients
Scale
2 tuna steaks (6–8 ounces each), about 1 inch thick
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
Lemon wedges for serving (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Tuna: Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels. This helps achieve a better sear in the air fryer.
Season the Tuna: In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Rub the mixture evenly over both sides of the tuna steaks.
Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
Air Fry the Tuna: Place the seasoned tuna steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they are not overcrowded.
Cook the Tuna: Air fry for 5-7 minutes for medium-rare, or longer for more well-done. The cooking time will depend on the thickness of the steaks and your desired level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium-rare, aim for 125-130°F (52-54°C).
Rest the Tuna: Remove the tuna steaks from the air fryer and let them rest for 2-3 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more tender and flavorful steak.
Serve: Serve immediately with lemon wedges and your favorite side dishes.
